Stockholm Slipover is a timeless and elegant knitted vest designed by PetiteKnit. This English-language knitting pattern is worked seamlessly from the top down, making it easy to adjust for length and fit.
The slipover is worked from the top down, starting with the back, then the shoulders and front, and finally joining the pieces for the body. The Stockholm Slipover features slanting shoulders shaped with short rows for a comfortable and flattering fit. The neck and armhole edges are finished with ribbing and an Italian bind-off for a clean and professional look.
Before you start, knit a gauge swatch to ensure that you achieve the correct gauge – this is important for getting the intended shoulder width and fit.
The Stockholm Slipover is designed with approximately 6 cm [2¼ inches] of positive ease. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are intended for a bust circumference of approximately 80–150 cm [31½–59 inches].
Example: If your bust measures 90 cm [35½ inches], choose size S – the finished garment has a bust circumference of 96 cm [37¾ inches], giving 6 cm [2¼ inches] of positive ease.
The slipover includes body decreases for shaping. If your bust is not the widest part of your upper body, these decreases can be omitted.
The pattern is designed to be knitted with two strands held together: Sandnes Garn Sunday (50 g = 235 m [257 yds]) and Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair (25 g = 212 m [232 yds]). This combination creates a soft, airy texture with a subtle halo.
