Ístex Léttlopi

Istex Léttlopi is an Icelandic worsted-weight wool yarn commonly used for popular Icelandic colorwork sweaters. When knitting with this yarn, the garment becomes breathable, lightweight, yet warm. Thanks to the properties of Icelandic wool, the garment is also suitable for outdoor use, as it provides excellent warmth even in cold and damp weather while remaining dry to the touch.

Skein size: 50 g / approx. 100 m
Recommended needles: 4-5 mm
Gauge: 18 sts / 10 cm
Yarn weight: Aran

Washing/Care: If necessary, hand wash in lukewarm water (30°C) using a mild wool detergent solution. Soak the knitwear for about 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Gently squeeze out excess water. Do not rub or wring the knit but press out the water inside a towel. Shape the knitwear carefully to its measurements and dry flat—do not hang.

Tip: You can add wool conditioner or a small amount of vinegar to the final rinse to make the knit softer.
